On April 19-23, we went to Melbourne for Ferdie's annual company outing. Its really fun to visit a new place and its really exciting since its our first time to anywhere in Australia. Four days is not enough to go around Melbourne, we missed the Penguin tour at Philips island, Healvesville sanctuary (where there are a lot of koalas and kangaroos), Dining at the colonial tramcar restaurant and riding the gondollas at the yarra river at sunset. Fully booked kasi yung restaurant and gondollas.... di bale, we hope there's a next time. Other than the things we missed, I think we did a good job in discovering Melbourne.
We walked and walked around Melbourne and tried not to miss any street. We got really immersed with the:
> 7-8 degrees cold, since winter had just started
> The tramcars all around the city
> St. Kilda Beach restaurants and pastries
> Luna Park
> The GREAT OCEAN ROAD tour (which was a whole day adventure) including riding a helicopter for the first time, catching a koala by the road on the tree, hitting a kangaroo on the road (wawa naman, but its common for things like that to happen daw), and meeting an italian couple on their honeymoon
> Seeing surfers during winter
> Seeing drunk 'mates' (may'te)
> 360 deg view of Melbourne city at night at the Observation deck
> A lil shopping plus a lil bit of drinking
> Seein Star Wars at a local cinema
> Yarra River tour with penguins
> Being exposed to adult stores in every street corner
It was a great journey. Btw, I prefer Qantas rather than British Airways to go to Australia... =) The movies are better hehe
